- This might be a dumb question but I'm going to ask it anyhow: Do equipment-rental places in California rent out chain saws? Or is the legal situation in the US so bad that they'll no longer rent out

- Don't know about CA but here in AL and in FL you can rent them but due to the high level of wear & tear on a chain saw if it isn't used correctly the prices are steep. I had to take out a sea grape

- I personally own a small gasoline powered chain saw which I find invaluable, but living in surban NJ I know several neighbors that have very inexpensive electric chain saws, which are fine for SMALL
