It's too quiet on the list! Here's an old chestnut of a question, but it was never really hashed out: Vizard claims that using a single 1.5" SU or 1.75" SU vs the standard dual 1.25" SUs can have so

If you do it, I would recommend the HIF44 that is the much improved 1 3/4" with built in bowl, centered jet, and ball berring dashpot. Depending on the cam, etc., it could be a good single unit. I'm

I have just been to your web page and your car does like pretty neat. I am interested in your carb choice because only the other day I was wondering why on earth no-one runs a pair of 1.75" SUs. In

I tried a HIF6 on a) a Titan manifold and b) a Russell Engineering Manifold. It was a very nice setup. I was very happy with it on a hot road 1380 (Kent 266 cam, 10:1, 1.5 rockers, Longman GT6 head).

One point missed there Daniel... on a single DCOE 45 (yes two barrels - two carbs in one) very few people will run anything larger than a 38mm choke (1.49") You'll simply never get the venturi veloci

I seems to me that the attraction of using a single SU is it's wide and cheap availability in England and the fact that the Vizard book and others are mainly intended for Mini owners who are upgradin

That's exactly what my father says. "It's only a sports car due to the dual carbs". I am keeping both of mine:P He also gets a kick outa dashpots for some reason.

Jeff, I have a 77 Midget with a ZS carb. I was thinking of converting to a single HS6. There is a place in the US (Merryman) who can convert my current intake manifold and supply a carb. The cost wit

Let's see if I can do this from memory. The single digit after the car number is the number of 1/8ths more than an inch Hence H1 = 1 1/8 H2 = 1 1/4 H4 = 1 1/2 H6 = 1 3/4 etc. For a two digit number i
