At one point during a short cruise the other day, my throttle pedal sank to the floor, while the rest of the linkage and cable ruturned to the idle position. I got home by reaching under the dash and

Sounds like the throttle shaft is too smooth (and worn down) to allow the pull arm to grip it properly. I don't know if it's practical to braze or weld the two together (you may not be able to re-ins

Solution, disassemble, and using a Dremel make the slot larger. The clamping force will then be enough so that the bolt does not bring the two half's together, and allow slippage. Larry

Maybe yours does, but that is not the way it came. I am going to bet you have a high rise 4 barrel. Someone put it on without modifying the cable linkage properly - like I did! The cable broke, as d

It's definitely just mechanical slipping... I can pull the lever under the dash that attaches directly to the throttle cable with my hand and rev the engine all I want. The pedal just sits there and

If those are your symptoms, and you are happy with the lash-up, then re-examine the under-dash pedal pivot clamp, locks, stops, and routing. Steve -- Steve Laifman Editor http://www.TigersUnited.com

Mine was a low tech solution, but I believe I just bent the throttle cable in a "U" shape past the holder. I'll have to crawl under my dash to be sure, but it seems to have held for 2 years or so. M
