Thanks to all that replied. I contacted ERC and he had copper indexing washers in the 12 MM size. The electrodes were just kissing the piston tops at RPM and needed to be indexed and backed up about

I would run a projected tip with the heat range used as stock or maybe 1 range cooler but not unless i saw overheating in plugs would i go colder. This engine is typical of what was around in 1968. S

ERC hands out a handy little pamplet on the salt printed by Champion with heat tables & corresponding plug #s, plus anything else you needed to know about spark plugs. Maybe they would mail you one.
