- Hers what ive tried. Put in a new cable before i installed it i hooked it to the speedo & it moved when i spun the cable. I hooked it up & Nothing. So i unhooked it from the speedo & went for a short

- Jack up the car so the rear wheels are off the ground. Disconnect the angle drive from the tranny. Turn the driveshaft and observe the end of the speedo drive gear in the tranny to see if it turns. P

- Hey RayToss the angle drive and get the 72" speedo cable (68-74 w/OD - $16 at NW Import) and hook it directly from the tranny to the speedo. Works great. (Gary installed mine!) Steve Conley Marysvill

- Yes, that's true. Or I have an angle drive you could have for a nominal fee. Best make sure it's the angle drive, though. It should be readily apparent if you remove it. Reh74bgt@cs.com had this to s

- My angle drive looked fine when I removed it. And it turned fine. There was some slight wear on the square rod, which must have caused it to slip at the point where it connected to the transmission.
