Theoretically, about 35 MPG with the stock dual SU setup. I believe the original specs called for between 35 and 38 MPG. I currently get about 22-28 MPG with a single downdraft Weber. Best wishes, Je

Ken, I seem to always be right at 30/31, seems not to makes much difference whether it's city or highway. all original stock set-up, 150 Stromberg, the engine has never been down. "FT"

Well Ken, when my '64 was running right, I would get about 28 mpg on the Highway with the top up. When I would run with the top down I would get about 38-40, depending how fast I was driving.

Greetings. I hope someone can offer some good advice to a not-so-knowledgable (about tuning things, anyway) Spitfire owner. It's a '78 Spit 1500 and here's what I've done to it: Weber carb conversion

I'm getting 31mpg in my '77 and it seems to run pretty good. This is on the hiway, around town it drops to 25 or so. However, a friend of mine has the original carb on his '79 and he claims to get 40

Hi SOLers using a Weber DGV carb on a '78 Spit.. I have not tried this particular carb, but have some data that might be good for comparison. Using a '78 Spit with stock carb, header, no air pump etc
