The half shafts for steel wheels are longer than those for wire wheels (or is it the other way around?). As for compatibility, there may be a concern that fitting a shorter shaft to a longer axle hou

Except that the wire wheel half shafts are about an inch shorter than the steel wheel half shafts, not 1/8" longer. They also have the pressed on flange/splines whereas the steel wheel half shaft is
