The fuel, and the temp are on the same primary power line. They are also tied together through a voltage regulator. (A very primitive voltage regulator I might add.) The problem could be either the

The instrument voltage regulator should be bolted to the right side of the steering column mount, just at the bottom edge of the dash. I don't have any idea what similar sized box would be bolted to
