- Are you sure they are bubbles of air and not water(antifreeze)? Put a amount of oil in a bottle cap and heat it until it smokes. If it starts to splatter then you've got a bad head gasket or worse. .

- Joseph I had never heard of filling a new filter before putting it on - running your finger dipped in oil around the gasket yes - but actually filling the filter? Does every one do this? Rick

- Rick et al, Both my TC and the GT have hanging filters, the GT still has the old canister/ cartridge style. I prefill both types when installing. Don't ask me why, it's just the way I've always done
