Quick question, it seems that the shift linkage can be removed with the tranny in place (remove mount and side panel and boot), is this true? also can the Hurst linkage be put in without too many gyr

I have the Hurst shifter in my Tiger but I installed it with the tranny out of the car. I believe you could replace it with the tranny in, but you'll need skinny fingers. The shifter is about as shor

I've heard of a couple fellows fabricating an adapter to use the whole Tiger shift lever on the Hurst. Original looks, better feel. I'll bet there's a drawing floating around somewhere. joness@wsu.ed

The Hurst shifter can be installed with the tranny in place. Not the easiest job to do on jackstands in the home garage, but I got it done. Access to a garage lift would ease the effort involved. BTW
