When Mr Sage writes that he used washers to try to seal the stop light switch to the brake line hub near the frame rail, were the washers sealing washers or just something from the hardware drawer? A

Those washers are usually meant to be used only once, since they are supplied in a dead-soft condition so that they'll conform to the surfaces being sealed. Steve's other question was whether or not

The original switch does have straight threads (British?) that are close enough to (I think it's) a 1/8" pipe thread to mix them up. Also, I believe the original gasket was a flat copper washer. For
