My Bugeye has been changed over to negative ground and totally rewired, and has an induction-loop tach from a later (possibly '67) Spridget. The tach is pretty flaky and inaccurate. I noticed that th

I have never seen but one turn of the wire for the tach induction loop. The wire does go through the "clamp" make a loop and pass through it once more before going on to the distributor or ignition

Thank you all for the responses. So there is one loop, and the wire passes through the clamp twice? I have no loop. The wire just passes once through the clamp. Does it matter which way the wire goes

Can any of the engineers in this group explain what the induction loop in the wire that goes to the tach actually does? (I've also seen this loop in some of the wires that go to the various component

The induction loop wire does pass through twice (i.e. it forms a small loop around the fitting. I'm surprised it works at all without the little loop. The loop increases the magnetic flux considerabl
