I'd say don't worry about the rubbing block. Thats what it is for. If set up correctly, that will limit how far the wheels turn in. If not set up correctly - not centered - then one side will lock hi

If you're trying to put spacers behind steel wheels, don't forget that they are supposed to be the same bolt pattern as VW (I've never verified it but it is often repeated - does anyone have evidence

Get wider wheels- offset is to the outside- wider rim makes for less ballooning of the tyre and clearance increases- on my +4 it went from 1/8" to almost 1/2" with 1/2 wider rims- got 'em from Britis
