Hi John, Stock tire should be 145x13 (unless the late cars were different...) A good alternative that shouldn't mess up your speeodometer and will fit the stock (4-1/2"x13") wheels is 165/70x13. This

i have stock steel rims on a '66 (SWA) Sprite and run 175/70 13's without any issues... and there ARE still some performance tires made in this size... i have them inflated (i think) to 22 psi front
