Yup, that's my take, mayf. Aluminum will also offer a small amount of "give" (in compression) to cushion added cylinder pressure from turbo or supercharger. __________________________________ Yahoo!

Oh Sure! But there is another advantage to Aluminum rods. The engine displacement gets bigger as the RPM increases. Just add .080 to the stroke and see what happens to the displacement......AAHHH dyn

Yes, aluminum rod growth is a reality. You do set your engine up accordingly, right? Since RPM stretch does occur, manufacturers suggest a conservative range of cycles before replacement is necessary
