You could always rent a tow dolly from u-haul for $35 a day that would hook up to your standard hitch. The minimum width (inside of tire to inside of tire) is 39" according to their specs. I just tow

Depending upon the weight and towing capacity of your Jeep, you could also rent a full bed auto trailer from Ryder (U-Haul seems to have gone to dual ramp trailers only) and tow the Midget on that.

I may be mistaken, but I believe that it IS necessary to disconnect and "tie up" the driveshaft in most manual transmissions when towing. This is because the tranny innards don't receive any splash
