I think the plug gap has more to do with the type of coil you have rather than the type of ignition system. With the sports coil, you can open the gap to 0.045", and sometimes, more. Correct me if I

I have a Pertronix kit in the 2500S and I have the plugs gapped at 0.035". I am running a standard coil and everthing is going great. I have thought of opening the gap out wider, but see no point on

I think it was 0.006th inch. at least very mall.On those I've fitted the major concideration was clearence of the advance plate arc so the pick-up never touched...........DK

Stand corrected....Petronix is a magnetic pole, imbedded trigger for the coil. Gap is mostly a matter of clearence than phycical dimension. I forgot to say that they recomend a non-magnetic feeler (s

When you open the gap larger then the specified gap you change the timing. It takes longer time for the coil to build up the required energy to overcome the resistance of the larger gap. Testing I ha
