I finally got this metal boot cleaned up and paint strippered to remove the "coating" whatever it was! is there supposed to be a small hole on the left hand side of the "longer" end? It looks like so

I once saw on E Bay a little locking deal which would lock the trany in reverse. Had a key to lock with & it mounted on the left side of the can. Apparently this was not a very common option. Maybe t

i have seen evrything from a trash bag holder to a CB radio microphone holder attached to this piece of tin. but the most common thing was a reverse lock out for competition purposes. so who did what
