- Check the fuse, if the fuel gauge quit at the same time, it's the fuse. It might just be a dirty fuse, steel wool those fuses every 20 years or so ;) If the fuse is good, it might be the switch itsel

- You have a "short" somewhere that is completing the circuit. I would check at the bulb socket first and make sure everything is as it should be and then at the switch. I seem to remember you have so
