My book says .17 and does not designate hot or cold. But on the opther adjustments it states adjust hot. So can one assume if it lists hot on one but nothing on the other would that be considered col

You're right the Chilton does not say Hot or Cold but if you look at the info for the RL411 it says hot and it's the same engine. Mike one sure fully mentioned

No, nothing with the balance of the engine as many books I rread on Datsuns say the engines are well balanced from the factory. It's probably due to the dual carbs. Dave Pesky owns a single SU 1500

Adjusting SUs on 1600s is different. I am able to get everything to spec but the engine just won't idle smoothly at 600 RPMs. It will run smoothly at about 850 w/o shaking the car. I readjusted my 2L
