Reminds me a the Falcon Wagon I had in the 60's living in Pennsylvania. It had a long but thin gas tank, with the outlet on the front. Everytime I had less than a third of a tank of gas, the damn thi

The classic definition of vapor lock is when fuel turns to vapor on the suction side of the fuel pump or in the pump. Fuel on the suction side (under vacuum) is vaporized by heat more easily than th

John... You will only typically get vapor lock if fuel vaporises before the fuel pump, not after... so the problem isn't in your engine compartment. I think BN1s and BN2s originally came with a rubb

I don't know about BN1s and BN2s, but I have to disagree with your statement for BJ8s. You CAN get vapor lock if the float bowls get hot and boil the gas inside. I found the carb heat shields to be

Take it from me the fan can be installed backwards. The best way to check is to feel for the flow of air a safe distance behind the fan and reinstal the fan if you don"t feel the wind. ______________

My BN1 does the same thing. I think it is radiant heat from the exhaust manifold heating the fuel bowls and boiling the fuel inside. It goes away when the pump has a chance to supply some cool fuel.
