Chris, 1) Lots, from varied sources. 2) That's what veneer is for. 3) It's a lot cheaper than a 1/2 piece of solid burl walnut, and the plywood doesn't warp in the weather (anyway the good plywood).

i have thought of koa wood. i have a dash that i made but the gauges i bought will not fit so i am going to do another to fit the gauges. i have even thought of mango wood. that would be neat. chris
