Unlike the alternators, voltage regulators are available at lots of auto parts stores. They may not look quite original, but they have the correct plug and will work fine. And yes, it should be a 4-p

Yes, I do, however...... - One local auto parts place (Schucks) was unable to determine what car this alternator came from after going through a zillion parts catalogs. He didn't even have an adapter
