Great timing! I'm thinking of this conversion as well to cure my smog test woes. A friend with An MGB has a DGV on it and consistently passes. But would it be a huge power loss compared to my twin HS

Boy, Dave, you are tolerant! Yes it's a cure. But it may be cheaper to buy a good Stromberg. I did, for $50 plus the price of another rebuild kit (which, like you, I was pretty good at by then!). Yup

I got a quote from British Masters or Team Triumph (I can't remember which) a few months ago for the kit, it was $378 compared to the $399 sale at VB. I put one on another Spitfire I had a few years

Hi Mike, I have a 78 also and when I bought it 10 years ago it had a webber dvg on it. I could never get the water choke to work correctly. I had to adjust it in the spring and again in the winter. I
