no vaccume advance here. i just use the advance unit to secure the breaker that is when i'm using the weber. although i do not use the advance unit with the SU's either. it does not need one! chuck 2

Mark, Finding a Lucas 23D distributor with centrifugal advance only is your best bet, or have your vacuum advance unit (25D?) recurved to act like a 23D, and don't use the vacuum unit. I bet Paul A.

I am no expert... but as nobody replied yet... if it is a Weber, it is not original to that car - if my memory serves me right, all Opel GTs came from the factory fitted with a Solex 32 carburettor.

not that there's anything wrong with Webers, however.... having used both on daily drivers, I find the SU's (assuming good mechanical condition) are less maintenance-intensive and more user-friendly
