- Am now building a new dash for my spitfire. What do you do for wiring? Use the stock wires, or build a new setup just for racing. If possible a wiring diagram would be nice. Thanks Dick Ross

- I'd be happy if my car had fuses! This race car has probably been wired by 3-4 people, each doing their own thing.

- Most racers build a new setup just for racing, with more attention to simplicity, reliability and in some cases redundancy than the stock harness provides. Big, positive, (ugly) toggle switches inst

- I'll suggest tossing the wiring harness and starting from scratch. If it is a "real" race car, the only circuits you need would seem to be 0. Cut off switch ( Oh boy, remember that discussion? ) 1. I

- It was a simple answer for me -- I just let Tom Strange make a custom wiring harness for me. I figured if Gulfstream lets him wire their airplanes, my little race Spit should be fine. Plus, the job h

- I could be all wet, but I wouldn't think you'd want fuses in a race car except maybe for non-essentials like lights. Seems to me replacing a wire or even the whole harness after the race would be be

- In place of fuses, it is probably a good idea to use aircraft circuit breakers that can be reset by just pushing them in. They are very tolerant to heat and vibration. Joe I could be all wet, but I w
