I have a wierd miss in my TR6. Under hard acceleration, it goes like stink, but at idle it is only hitting on 5 cyl., judging by the cond of the #5 plug. I have regapped the points, checked the rotor

Carburetor is a French word which means "leave it alone." I'd try a new plug or ignition wire. Swap the wires and plugs around between cylinders and see if the problem follows the part. It doesn't so

I had a wierd miss in my TR6 once, but she made me fire on all cylinders so I married her. I have a wierd miss in my TR6.

According to Webster, it is carburetor. But in my Haynes Manuel, it is constantly spelled carburettor. As I have always thought that Haynes was a US company I would have thought they would use the US
