Most likely these were Dunlops made under lisence somewhere else (Germany or India). If they had been Daytons, you would have seen a Made in U.S.A. sticker, as these are hand made in Dayton OH. I bo

There is no way I would buy a Dunlop wire wheel if I could get Dayton wheel at a competitive price. My experience is only in relation to chrome wires but the Dayton wheels have stainless steel spokes

I have always gotten good results by painting the wheels any silver, wait an hour and repaint them with a can of clear enamel. The clear grays the silver to a perfect original look. Mike Leckstein

This was a fairly common conversion, both in the 50s and now. Luckily, the only change necessary is to use the correct hubs (and wheels, of course). IMS, the TF hub is usable on the TD. Regards, Lew
