I'm not sure about the later Sprites and Midgets, but there was an optional wooden wheel for the Bugeye. It had three slotted polished spokes with a wood rim. The spokes were positioned at approx. 12

In the back of Chatter a few years ago there was someone selling a Moto-Lita re-pro for the Frogeye. The wheel is 15 inches (not 16 as the black wheel) and is properly positioned as per above. These

Don't know if it's the Paddy Hopkirk or not... further clarification. The Moto-Lita is set up more like a modern wheel, with the spokes at approx. 3:00, 6:00, and 9:00. It has "Moto-Lita" engraved on
