They do, that's true, but a really nicely restored set of painted wires is a pretty sweet look too. When the rear drums are all glass-beaded and refinished, and every nook and cranny is spotless...

That was based on the plating process "embrittling" the spokes. But now they all use polished stainless spokes, so that's not an issue. My older wires have a mix at this point... -- Max Heim '66 MGB
