That begs for the assertion that cheap cars usually sell more than expensive ones. But lets look at the competing vehicle. I think it took the Camaro far less than 40 years to top One Million. Also,

I think the main reason the Mustang sold so much faster than the Corvette is that it's a more practical car. After all, most people have little use for a two-seater, even though a Mustang's back seat

I'm not sure they where lots cheaper. I think the sale price of my TR-6 was 4020 in 71, I would have to dig up the bill of sale. I think the average US car was around 2500-3000 at the time. Does anyo

A Car & Driver article from Oct. '76 had the TR6 at US$6366, and the 'vette at just over $8000. At 75% of the cost of the Chevy, a 1997 TR6 would be around $30,000. Now I know why Miatas sell so well

I paid $6800 (tax, title, out the door) for my TR6 in May of '76. I had no idea what a Corvette cost then. Didn't like 'em then. mmm, ... Kinda like 'em now- don't think I'd ever own one though.
