Listers, any tips on installing/modifying the Datsun alfin drums to fit a T/R 3, these are original Datsun drums (9") and I understand some modifacations have to be made, any & all help appreciated.

In that case, I'd make bushings to go between the OD of the studs and ID of the stud holes in the drums. Those little screws don't have enough shear strength to rely on them without the studs. Few ca

Yes, sleeves could be made up if you really had to run a TR-4 drum on a TR-6, but just be very clear that it is marked in some way so if someone else takes the drum off, they know to look for the spa

Yes, they are designed to have some freedom of location by nature of the elongated slot which the wheel cylinder fits through. However, it takes quite a bit of force to move the cylinder in that slot

well, they might be rusty, but that'll mean that the rear brake cylinders are not working, so you want to check anyway, apart from that if the brakes work the drums can't rust, so he's talking bull**

My guess is that this is a safety issue and a liability issue. The drums are very rusted, I assume this on the outside. He turns the drums down to minimum thickness or close to it to true them up. Th
