I got the switch plinth from TRF, and it was just like yours, without the side bracket. The original ('74) did have the bracket. I asked them about it, and they said the reproductions are being made

Ok it seems the consensus is that TRF & Moss both supply the plinth without the bracket (which Dave Terrick pointed out could be very useful as a reinforcement of the choke control). I got mine from

Fellow TR6 owners, if you depress the gas pedal and hold it down while pulling your choke cable, the cable will pull much easier and you won't miss the missing reinforcement bracket on the aftermarke
