Well my GT6 has O/D and so it was supposed to have the 3.89 ratio diff. But I have found that was swapped out at some point to a 3.27. I want to go back to a 3.89 unit. Any good sources for one? And
i've never heard of a failure with a quaife. we installed ours 20 years ago and have never opened it up again. Joe Alexander A. R. E. 645 1st Street Jesup, Iowa 50648 319.464.4711 (cell) n197tr4@cs.c
I have been using a Quaife in my Spitfire for the last 10 years. I have no complaints other than the fact that, once you lift the right rear tire, you've got an open diff. Otherwise, so far so good.

Although I have a quaife in the K car, I prefer a Clutch type LSD simply because there tune-able. I have made tools to be able to check the 'breakaway" of the clutch plates. Peyote and the Devin use

I would also like to add, that you can replace the clutch plates and ramps in the tran x diffs. The Tran x Brand has been sold to quaife and the guys who used to make Tran x, are making there own ver
If you intend to keep the Roto's for a while I'd be cautious applying any of the aggressive differential options. My GT6 had a quaife for many years because of the opinion offered above. I noticed a
Lifting Wheel: It's not clear to us what we did with the suspension, but the wheel does not lift and spin on our TR4. It did in the first few years. We do have a slightly wider track when we added sp
I'm with Steve - my GT6 has a welded 3.89 in it. There was one in the car when I got it, who knows how old, just destructed this summer after eight years of racing (and I coasted into pit lane with t
I had used a welded diff over the years with great success and tried last year a new Bastuck LSD diff. The Bastuck design has a lock from 50-98 percent depending how much throttle you give. More thro
Hey Chuck, lots of interesting feedback here. If I were in your position, I'd buy a couple good used 3.89's. (From a reliable used Triumph parts guy, like TSI or similar trusted source) Speaking from
Jason raises some excellent points on weak links in the system - my drivetrain is virtually non-stock, with a TR4-6 transmission (GT6 ones last a couple of weekends if you are lucky), a modified driv
I appreciate all the advice and comments. To round out the picture, I am converting to a TR6 trans and am replacing the rotoflex system with a much beefier CV set up. Trying to start with upgraded co

I suspect the GT6 rear suspension will work much better than the Spitfire's swing axles. Years ago, I tried racing a Spit with an open diff for one weekend. It was horrid. The inside rear got so ligh
Or you could just buy mine and skip all of this development stuff. ;). Chuck stock drivetrain of halfshafts as I'd like (He harder will key how first (good) table. But http://autox.team.net/mailman/o
I believe those diffs are also available from others - Racestorations are not the sole supplier. TR Enterprises in Nottingham definately can supply and as I've found at a good price. Sent from my iPh
Of course, Mr. Gee, Although we have no doubts about the quality of your design and potential for performance... We have yet to hear so much as a peep as far as race reports go.(at least here on FoT)
I have an extra stick diff if anyone is interested. Chris not as who available go http://autox.team.net/mailman/options/fot/seacubeco@aol.com _______________________________________________ fot@autox
I've always run welded diffs in my cars. I don't know about them being the advanced choice, but they are cheap and very effective, especially in light cars like ours. I also have Detroit Lockers that
I've had it out a few times and its coming along nicely. Still some teething issues with carburetor settings and spring rates but hey, tuning is what it's all about. The last race I finished 8th out
I'm very fond of a good LSD, they give you all the traction you're going to get without drama. Lockers are dramatic and affect the handling. I don't see a need to have something more that I need to m
