Without a diff spreader... you can use a torch and heat up the perimeter of the case. It does not take much to expand the cast case by a couple of thou and the pumpkin will fall out! Steve Yott --Ori

The rope trick works Tie a rope to the carrier and hang the entire axle from a vise. Use a soft faced hammer and hit the the housing on both sides of the carrier. The housing will drop to the floor.
