When you say "cannot get the car to go into gear", I assume you mean that it's grinding when you try? If so, it sounds like your input shaft is rubbing on the pilot bearing which means that when you

There are two thicknesses of throw out "bearings". Sounds like you used the thinner one when you replaced it. Was the new one thinner than the old one you pulled? If so this could be the culprit ass
