Ordered a new enameled hood badge as the body shop had tried to bend it to fit the holes and cracked the enamel. The holes on my 62 TR4 hood are not quite matching up with the aftermarket hood badges

IF you elongate the hole a little to fit, it will be hidden. It will still be a snug fit as the posts will occupy the maximum length. If still unsure you could repack the void with some clear JB Weld

I think you are exactly right as the one broken by the body shop he had bent it slightly and that cracked the enamel. Not recommending that route. Im ok with it not completely flush and may elongate
