First off most "mag" wheels are aluminum not magnesium. Second, no they cannot be safely repaired regardless of which material they are made from. There are many companies that do repair these wheels

The Octagonal guys are correct. But only if you don't properly lubricate them. I lub'd my poly bushings with a heavy silicone grease for a squeak-free ride. The first time I used polyurethane bushing
