My Tiger IA uses rivets for the original cubby box. According to the June 1968 parts catalogue, the same box part number was used from the first Alpine IV (no separate listing for Tiger)until the end

This is an interesting question. The Alpine Parts List has several diagrams of the cubby and they all show what appear to be rivets. A change to staples means: 1 - there was a change in assembly line

For whatever little it may be worth, the box original to my Mark IA as delivered to me new from the dealer has rivets. I still have it in somewhat collapsed/torn condition in a cabinet (just checked

I found my original torn up Cubby and it has 26 rivets holding it together. There are no ID marks visible but there are several differences between the original and the reproduction cubby I installed
