I've been following the tr6 console thread on the six pack list and concur
that the 1/93 article on them is probably the most complete article to date.
I managed to get one of the repros from Mike Gassman back in 1995 on the
tail end of his production run. I also luckily managed to get a NOS tr6
forward console (I guess with the "standard piece with the speaker together
with the forward section they called them the deluxe modeL) from him at the
same time. He wanted $150 for the forward NOS piece alone but looking back
it was well worth it. This was the piece that slipped around the gearshift
console and housed the Kienzle clock. There's a picture in that article. I
had to go hunting around for that clock but finally found one. Anyway,
Gassman did tell me that the forward console section was considered "ugly"
by some and not a big seller but quite truthfully I like it a lot. If you're
looking for more info or possibly try to get a remaining repro "standard"
console you might want to call Mike Gassman himself at his shop in Va. -
