Thanks Valerie, a picture would be very helpful. I see now, where the top
is suppose to go, I am having problems visualizing the bottom connection
points.
One more question I have is, does the shroud make a big difference in the
cooling?

the large end goes up against the grille and the narrower end to the
radiator. I can send you a digital photo of my 73 with its original
shroud, if you'd like.
