Kevin---On your testing of the rear oil seal---It usually takes a
spinning crankshaft to make a new seal leak at this source.  If you
suspect this is going to be a problem area, you might want to take the
spring out of the seal, and cut about 1/2 inch out of it. This will make
the seal a little tighter around the shaft.  If you want to try this,
the spring can be "unscrewed" from itself where it is joined. (You'll
see or feel the bump). Cut the end with the smaller diameter, and screw
it back together.  It's easy to do, but you can practice on the old seal
spring first.  Here's to engines, bright and shiny!
