Somebody on 6-pack mentioned they were going to use the bolt in the
sparkplug hole to find top dead center. That got me to thinking, I am think
I may have omitted a step for those of you out there. Want to make sure I
gave you all the steps.

        1. Remove the spark plugs

        2. Loosen rocker arms on #1 cylinder

        3. Insert a 3-4" bolt into the #1 spark plug hole. Should have the
same

         threads as the spark plug.

        4. Rotate the crank until it hits the bolt (may need to play with

how far you insert the bolt)

        5. Mark the location of the TDC pointer on your damper.

        6. Rotate the crank in opposite direction till it stops.

        7. Mark the location of the TDC pointer on the damper.

        8. TDC is halfway between the two marks.

I don't recall, but I think I may have omitted loosening the
rockers. You need to do this to prevent the valves from hitting the bolt and
throwing off the measurement.

Just wanted to be sure that I got all the details out there.

        Cheers,

        Vance
