I am getting ready to adjust the bearing preload on the front disc brake
rotor and I seem to remember reading somewhere that these were a little
different to adjust do to the felt oil seal in the hub. Since it creates a
false feel of tightness of the bearings. Actually the castle nut seems to
tighten before the bearings start to drag. In the Bentley manual it suggest
tightening the castle nut to 5 ft/lbs. What's the correct way to adjust?

Also on the brake calipers, is it necessary to center the caliper to the
rotor with shims, since they are disc brakes they will center themselves,
won't they?

Thanks for your responses in advance!
