Page 63 of "Original Triumph" shows the TR250 wiper motor painted black on the
square motor housing piece only. The rest is silver/gray/aluminum.

Anyone have any ideas on what the original finish was on the TR250 wiper
motor housing -- the sheet metal part?

I have remnants on mine of what appears to be a medium gray paint with
black lines in it -- maybe something like the hammerite finish that
Eastwood sells. It's something like the old pseudo hammered "metallic"
finish you might see on an old tool box or old office equipment -- like
an old typewriter maybe. Hard to describe. Not the rough wrinkle finish,
but a smooth mottled or hammered look. Maybe Eastwood's Hammerite is the
thing...

Thanks,

Don Malling
