I've been watching the emails in this forum for some time and have checked out
the archives, too. From what I can gather, the correct lubricant for my A-Type
overdrive box is 30W non-detergent oil, and 80W/90 hypoid oil (GL3 or 4) for my
differential. Are there specific brands that any of you prefer?
When it comes to motor oil, there appears to be a lot of disagreement. Some say
only straight 30W, some say use Mobil 1, Redline, etc. Is there any consensus
about proper lubrication for these engines? Any comments and/or recommendations
(brand and grade) would be appreciated.
