Mark,

I energize my A type by using the 12V battery. Ground the transmission housing
to the negative terminal of the battery. Connect the positive side of the
battery to the solinoid wire lead. I would use a 5 amp fuse in line with the
solinoid wire lead just for protection.

In Bentley, there's a procedure in which you "energize the solenoid" on
the J-type overdrive (transmission off the car). Can someone describe to
me the proper way to energize the solenoid?

Thanks!
Mark
