The original paint was acrylic enamel.

        Derek:

The Moss US parts catalog claims Triumph used enamel. Does
anyone know different? (Disclaimer - I just turned 50, and my memory is
shot. So if I am wrong, I will immediately respond "I never said that!"
- and I will mean it.)

Hi there listers,

A while back there was a question raised on paint types used on the TR6
and whether or not it was acrylic paint that was used. In the early TR6
parts manuals there is a statement that where acrylic was used the paint
code on the commission plate would have an "A" prefix, i.e. A25 would
designate Conifer Acrylic paint. My understanding however was that
Triumph only used cellulose. Does anyone know for sure or has anyone a
commission plate with the "A" prefix. Just curious.
