I also have one of the originals and  I have to agree the reproduction looks
rather good; and yes the original was rather thin in places.
The Smith clock is a nice replacement for the original Kienzle clock, which
I am sure no longer exist.
I wonder if he sells parts, I need a speaker grill.
I believe I bought the last complete console offered on ebay and that was
three years ago.
Once the price went over $100. there was only one other bidder who ran it up
to $225.  Then last year somone spent $200, on just the front clock piece.
I am sure there is going to be some nut case to run this new one to the
stratosphere.  But I'd be suprised if there are many takers in the $450
range.  I think the real market for these would be in the low $200 + range.
I might even go for another one.  But I'am not the one who has to recoup
their investment.
I did like it better when I was one of the few.
