Adam,
In addition to the comments from Ken, I would add two things.
First, if it is indeed the floats sticking, replace them. I went through
the sticking issue-"Grose Jets" are not as immune to sticking as I was
led to believe. After going back to the "original" variety of needle
valve I have not had an issue with carb flooding, period!
Secondly, there may be another problem. The fuel pump can develop a leak
in the diaphragm, and leak fuel directly into the engine. Check your pump
out as this can literally fill the engine with fuel quite quickly.
Hope you can locate the source and fix it without to much problem.
